La compilación del código fuente del servidor web Apache siempre es divertida.
Es muy raro que Apache se compile en la primera ejecución en un servidor nuevo.
El hecho es que requiere una gran cantidad de requisitos previos y si falta alguno de ellos o la compatibilidad de la versión, es posible que deba dedicar mucho tiempo a solucionarlos.
Estaba trabajando en el nuevo servidor Linux 6.4 para instalar Apache 2.4.6 y encontré el siguiente error.

Si recibe un error similar, puede solucionarlo como lo hice yo siguiendo.
Solución
Después de analizar varios parámetros, noté que esto sucede cuando tienes una versión inferior a 1.4.1 de apr-util
- Verifique su versión de apr-util. Si encuentra una versión anterior, debe instalar la 1.4.1 o superior
- Descargue el código fuente de apr-util de http://mirror.nus.edu.sg/apache/apr/
- Extraiga el archivo descargado
Compile e instale de la siguiente manera
./configure make make install
De forma predeterminada, se instalará en /usr/local/apr/bin/apu-1-config
Ahora puede completar apache con apr-util recién instalado y debería estar bien.
./configure --with-apr-util=/usr/local/apr/bin/apu-1-config
